is unveiling a new series of modular managed Ethernet switches.
These compact switches are perfect for space-critical field
site applications that require a flexible and expandable Ethernet
infrastructure or multiple fiber solutions.
Moxa's EDS-608/611/616/619 series of modular managed Ethernet
switches with a rich selection of media modules offers users
an extensive and diverse collection to choose from. These high-density
modular switches are extremely flexible and provide up to three
Gigabit Ethernet ports and up to four modular expansion slots
for Fast Ethernet modules with a large choice of copper and/or
fiber connectors. The entire line features a wide operating
temperature range of -40 to 75ºC as well as hot-swappable media
modules to ensure reliable operation. Moxa's EDS-600 modular
Ethernet switch product line is a cost-effective Ethernet infrastructure
solution that maximizes flexibility and simplifies expansions.
Optimized for Multiple Fiber Applications
Fiber connections are a natural choice for transferring massive
amounts of data over vast distances in wide area networks such
as transportation systems, oil pipeline monitoring systems,
and water and wastewater applications. Moxa's EDS-600 series
is perfect for multiple fiber applications, since it can offer
up to 16 fiber Ethernet ports with the additional option of
three 1000SFP slots for Gigabit fiber uplinks.
Award-winning Modular Design
Moxa's EDS-600 series received the prestigious Red dot Product
Design Award for 2009. The EDS's design and modular concept
was highly praised. The EDS-600 switches allow users to select
between different media interfaces. In addition, by offering
users different 4-port Ethernet modules with different media
options, users can create the optimal switch solution to match
their specific needs, or they can choose to save space for future
expansions.
Reliable and Secure Communications
The EDS-600 managed Ethernet switches feature versatile software
functionality, including Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain redundancy
with a fast recovery time under 20 ms, Modbus/TCP for integrating
with SCADA/HMI systems, LLDP to enable automatic detection of
network topology, IPv6 for next generation networking, and IEEE
1588 PTP to synchronize devices on a network with sub-microsecond
precision. The EDS-600 series with its many features guarantees
excellent network performance.
