The VPort 461 is a 1-channel industrial video encoder that transforms analog video to three simultaneous streams in H.264 and MJPEG formats, with an end-to-end system latency less than 200 ms over transmission. Users can simply integrate the VPort 461 into their existing CCTV systems to migrate to an IP surveillance system, with no need to replace their original equipment.

H.264 Video Performance
H.264 provides the best video quality with significantly reduced storage and bandwidth requirements. Using H.264 compression technology, the VPort 461 ensures fast and superb quality video transmission; remote users can capture real-time images from anywhere using a web browser, and operate a camera's pan-tilt-zoom control to capture critical images and enhance real-time security capability.

Hardened Design |
The VPort H.264 video encoder is designed for harsh environments and supports a wide spectrum of rugged industrial features, including wide temperature tolerance from -40 to 75°C, IP30 form factor protection against dust and rain, and industrial certifications (UL508, C1D2, ATEX), as well as the regular EMI/EMS standards.

Local Storage for Event Recording
The VPort 461 is armed with an SD card socket (SDHC, V2.0) for local storage purposes, and currently supports up to 32 GB of storage. This type of local storage option can be used to record events even when the network is down and the video stream cannot be transmitted.

Two Ethernet Ports for Cascading or Port Redundancy
The VPort 461 has two built-in 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for cascading multiple VPort 461 units. With the cascade feature, fewer switch ports are needed, and you also save on cabling costs and effort when setting up your system. Alternatively, the same Ethernet ports can be used to set up a backup path to continue transmitting video when the primary path is disconnected.

Easy Control of PTZ Cameras
The VPort 461 uses Moxa's Real COM technology to implement transparent communication for RS-232/422/485 PTZ control. The benefit of the Transparent PTZ Control function is that it eliminates the need to build the PTZ control driver into the VPort product, allowing the use of a legacy PTZ control panel or keyboard to control a PTZ camera directly.

Ready for Modbus Communication |
Modbus is one of the most accepted communication protocols among automation devices and SCADA systems. The VPort 461 supports Modbus/TCP, the third generation Modbus protocol, which brings proprietary automation communication to open IP networks. When used with Moxa's SoftNVR-IA application and VPort Gadget (a simple tool bundled free with VPort SDK), the VPort 461 not only provides enhanced video performance for general IP surveillance applications, but also provides OPC and ActiveX control communication capability, making the VPort 461 easy to integrate with most SCADA and automation systems, and perfect for industrial facility surveillance.
