This intelligent bus information system includes GPS positioning and a passenger information system, which are both managed by Moxa's V2401 x86-based Atom powered embedded computer. Since the system is installed onboard the bus, the system needs to be shock and vibration-resistant. Moxa’s V2401 is e-mark certified to ensure reliable live voice and data communications between the bus, passengers, and remote control center—which work together to guarantee a reliable intelligent bus information system.
The V2401 also manages the bus’s timetable,
route, and a GPS module that connects to a satellite
to allow the remote control room to determine
the bus’s location at all times with system
mapping. Real-time bus information on bus stop
panels can be updated when needed. The V2401
and bus stops are equipped with USB Bluetooth;
when the V2401 is within a 10 meter vicinity
of a bus stop, it will alert the bus stop as
well as the remote control center of its impending
arrival. In addition, the V2401’s DI/DO support
allows automation of bus doors.
Moxa’s V2401 computers’ rich interfaces support
audio technology and speakers, security mechanisms
to control and record video, and fare tallying.
Because the V2401 offers dual displays (VGA,
DVI-I, and LVDS selectable), it is perfect for
industrial digital signage applications, providing
a display for the driver and another for the
passenger display. |
