Industrial-strength AWK-3121 wireless Access Point, Bridge, Client with IEEE 802.11a/b/g
The latest development in industrial device networking is the adoption of wireless technology for industrial applications. This is because users recognize the convenience of being able to connect devices without the use of wires, and would like to take advantage of key benefits, such as mobility, flexibility, wider coverage, and cost savings. Moxa's new AWK-3121 series is designed to connect mobile equipment to a wireless LAN over a TCP/IP network. An industrial-grade design, a high level of security, and greater reliability are what differentiate the AWK-3121 from general commercial wireless products.
Robust Design
The new AWK-3121 is a 3-in-1 device that supports IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards for use as a wireless access point, bridge, or client. Avoid interference by using 802.11a and the uncrowded 5 GHz band. By providing both DIN-rail mounting and wall mounting options, and offering wide temperature (-40 to 75°C for -T models) operation, the AWK-3121 is suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
Maximum Security
The IEEE 802.11 standard specifies a way to use radio frequency (RF) technology to send Ethernet packets over the air. The AWK-3121 provides higher security levels of authentication and authorization for enhanced safety. Security features include 802.11X/RADIUS (Remote Authentication User Dial-In Service), AES, TKIP support and disabling of SSID broadcasts. Furthermore, IP packet filters help wireless users filter out attacks from hackers. In addition to WEP, Moxa's AWK-3121 also offers WPA/WPA2 capabilities that use Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) technology to raise the level of data encryption. The AWK-3121 provides stronger security suitable for industries that require highly secure wireless networks.
Greater Reliability
The AWK-3121 is designed to be used with Ethernet-ready devices to provide ready access to a wireless LAN. To increase the reliability of a wireless network, the AWK-3121 can support PoE and two redundant power inputs. In addition, the AWK-3121 is also equipped with two digital inputs and one relay output for on-site monitoring and warnings, and supports STP/RSTP (IEEE802.1D/w) to prevent network looping and to increase system availability by setting a redundant path. In addition, an RS-232 console port is included for greater flexibility onsite and IP-free management.
Applications
The AWK-3121 series is a rugged, secure, and reliable solution for wireless network infrastructures. The industrial-strength design is suitable for your industrial wireless applications.
