Wi-Fi networks are often used in offices, factory floors, or even outdoors, and it is often desirable to maintain connections as devices move or roam between access points. Moxa's AWK-1100 and AWK-1200 are excellent choices if you need a wireless access point, bridge, or AP client for your industrial application
AWK-1200: Outdoor Wireless Access
Today's industrial wireless applications are no longer limited to indoor environments. Moxa offers a wireless access point/bridge and a outdoor AP client that are specifically designed for harsher outdoor environments. The AWK-1200-AP and AWK-1200-AC both offer IEEE 802.11g/b operation, weatherproof design, flexible deployment, and extensive security. They are designed for wide temperature operation from -20 to 70°C, and their IP67 and IP68-rated enclosures ensure protection against the effects of dust and water. IEEE 802.3af PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) compliance means that separate power connections can be avoided, and detachable antennas allow users to select different antennas for special-purpose coverage. In addition, administrators can have peace of mind with built-in wireless security that includes WEP, WPA, and WPA2 encryption (Wi-Fi Protected Access), as well as IEEE 802.1X authentication.
AWK-1100: Industrial Wireless AP/Bridge/Client
The AWK-1100 is designed to provide access to a wireless LAN. Since data is transmitted by radio waves, integrators need to be assured of maximum security protection, which the AWK-1100 provides through IEEE 802.1X and RADIUS, or Remote Authentication User Dial-In Service. Wireless users can be authenticated against a back-end RADIUS server to approve or deny access to the wireless network. The AWK-1100 has a rugged design for operation in harsh industrial environments, and can tolerate temperatures ranging from 0 to 60°C. In addition, it mounts easily on DIN-rails or distribution boxes.
