Introduction
Industrial science parks serve many functions. They attract internal and domestic funds and technology, help to develop open economies, generate international cooperation, and help communities become part of the global marketplace.

Building a successful industrial science park requires high-tech R&D resources, with product lines playing an essential role. The facilities and management of the industrial science park must also use the most up to date technology to meet the expectations of today's professionals.

Forming a solid administrative monitoring platform that includes traffic, local security, and an intelligent surveillance system goes a long way towards promoting an industrial science park in the business community. Four key benefits of creating a good monitoring system are:

Meet the strict requirements of security, administration, and management departments.
Connect with traffic systems to build up an intelligent traffic network.
Centralize the management of basic administrative facilities.
Develop a park-wide public broadcast system.

System Description
Phase 1 of Construction  Monitoring control management system
This project uses 10/100 Mbps Ethernet as the main communication medium, with Turbo Ring topology used to increase reliability. Profibus is used to transmit control signals between substations (max. speed of 12 Mbps), and uses Ethernet to connect monitors, highway MIS, GIS, GPS, and monitoring stations (speed of 10/100 Mbps) for management. The modulated scheme and friendly WINCC Chinese user interface are advanced methods that are used widely around the world. Baifeng Tunnel has left and right openings on each side, with the left opening stretching a distance of 1,974 meters, and the right opening stretching a distance of 1,540 meters. The main communication and monitoring network system uses Moxa ED6008-MM-SC to build a ring topology that connects to the main control room using IMC-101-M-SC over long distances.

Phase 2 of Construction  Multi-monitoring and broadcast system

The second phase of construction involves an area of about 7.5 square kilometers. The total road length in the industrial science-park is about 40 kilometers. The park also contains a 2.5 kilometer tunnel, 19 middle-sized and small bridges, 2 wastewater treatment plants, 2 rainwater treatment plants, 2 tunnel drainage ditches, and a 12 kilometer long river.

This multi-monitoring system must be capable of processing heavy traffic loading, and should be a fast, flexible, and reliable network, so that when a connection fails, communications will not be affected. Moreover, the system should be extendable, so that other systems with different protocols can easily connect to it via switches.

In addition, the devices and software in the control room can continue using the system resources from the first phase of construction; the only devices and software needed are new devices. The system is compatible with the original system and can reuse the resources and reduce the construction investment.

At the base of this multi-monitoring network, an intelligent monitoring system is used to achieve real-time monitoring of every road, and record and save the license plate numbers of vehicles parked illegally in the park area. By using this network, the working status of devices can be monitored in real-time remotely, and show the images of working status and function parameters of all monitored objects in the monitoring area.

Gigabit Networks increases the Central Network bandwidth to transmit data from a different Local Network. The combination of Turbo Ring and Ring Coupling achieves the reliability requirement to build a robust communication network.

Moxa Provides the Following Benefits
Moxa's Turbo Ring supports fast media redundancy, with a recovery time of less than 300 ms, providing customers with a reliable and stable network.

Easy configuration and real-time administration by web browser, Windows utility, or Telnet/Serial console.

EDS-726 and EDS-508 series switches are rated to operate at temperatures from -40 to 75 °C.

Moxa EDS-Managed switches support e-mail and relay warning by user-configured events.

Moxa EDS-Managed switches support fiber optic ports to handle long distance transmission from different local site to the central control room.

Moxa's VPort series video servers support remote access, control, and monitoring from anywhere, anytime.

Surveillance systems based on an Ethernet network are convenient for system integrators to maintain, repair, and upgrade.
