| Secure terminal server |
| To address EMI in substation environments, most system integrators use fiber optic cable to replace Cat. 5 cable. The NPort 6000 series provides 2 fiber optic Ethernet ports for EMI noise immunity. In addition, the NPort 6000 series supports 802.3w RSTP (rapid spanning tree protocol) to connect two Ethernet ports to different Ethernet switches. One Ethernet port can be configured as a primary path and the other as a back-up path. If the primary path is damaged, the NPort 6000 will activate the back-up connection immediately to ensure zero data loss during communication. |
