| Introduction |
| Moxa's Universal PCI Series meets the new
slot standard for expansion boards that is being rapidly
adopted by PC server
manufacturers. In addition, Moxa's Universal PCI boards work
with both 3.3-volt and 5-volt PCI slots, allowing MOXA boards
to be used in virtually any PC available. We provide 2/4/8
independent RS-232/422/485 serial ports for connecting data
acquisition equipment and many other serial devices to a
PC. |

| Universal PCI |
The somewhat old fashioned PCI bus standard
only supports a 32-bit bus and 5V connector key. However,
with the trend of
sharing maximum bandwith, reducing power consumption, and
speeding up transmission speed, the PCI bus standard has
moved from 32-bit PCI/5V to 64-bit PCI/3.3V. Moxa's Universal
PCI series
provides the following features, making it easy to use
MOXA boards in any signaling environment.

| Increased FIFO buffer for better performance |
| Moxa's own in-house testing reveals the difference
between using a 16-byte, 64-byte, and 128-byte FIFO. As shown
in the following figure, the decrease in CPU loading is significant,
with the 128-byte FIFO using only 2% of the host computer's
resources. |

| Low Profile PCI boards are so small that
they easily fit into almost any system. The relative sizes
of PCI and LowProfile PCI boards is illustrated in the following
