Moxa’s
R&D Team |
|
| Moxa's
strong R&D team has a good track record of attracting
brilliant hardware, software, and firmware engineers.
People from all over are eager to join this outstanding
R&D team for the opportunity to apply their own
innovative power, and in the process, make Moxa's
products even better. |
|
Strengths |
The
MOXA R&D team is excellent at system integration
and at designing highly reliable industrial products.
Our R&D engineers seek the most durable hardware
raw material, and then intelligently apply their
technical expertise during the research and development
process. The most important part of the design process—integrating
hardware with software and firmware—is not
an easy task, but at MOXA, our R&D team can
determine the hardware and software specifications
most suitable for creating reliable products with
a low RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) rate.
The MOXA R&D team will also customize products
to satisfy customers’ varied needs. For example,
the system used for an oil pipe control room may
not be suitable for blood testing devices. MOXA
recognizes these differences, and our R&D team
is more than happy to modify our systems to satisfy
the requirements of different customers. |

Innovation
and Awards |
| MOXA
was recently honored with three national awards
that demonstrate Moxa’s excellence compared
to other businesses in the SME (Small and Medium
Enterprise) category: |
|
- 12th
National Outstanding Small and Medium Enterprise
Award
Recognizes the professionalism of Moxa’s
management team, and the contributions the company
makes to society.
- 10th
Small and Medium Enterprise Innovation Research
Award
Recognizes Moxa’s ED6008 Series of 8-port
intelligent Ethernet switches specially designed
for harsh industrial environment applications.
All of the products in this series conform to
stringent industrial safety standards and provide
users with sophisticated network management
functions.
- 6th
Rising Star Award
Recognizes Moxa’s topnotch R&D resources,
core technology, and professional customer service
for the NPort Family of products, which replace
PCs as the communication connection between
serial devices and the TCP/IP network. These
products are used in applications with RS-232/422/485
devices in distributed management and remote
control systems, including factory automation
systems, monitoring systems, telecommunication/electrical
equipment management systems, security/surveillance
systems, and medical equipment networking.

Core
Technologies |
The
MOXA R&D team’s expertise spans the many
core technologies needed to manufacture highly reliable
data communications products. The technologies we’ve
mastered include asynchronous and synchronous serial
communications, industrial Ethernet communications,
serial-to-Ethernet communications, real-time OS
and communications protocol stacks, and IC design.
The MOXA R&D team has developed several key
technologies, including a MOXA Operating System,
ADDC™ (Automatic Data Direction Control),
and Turbo Ring, all of which make Moxa’s products
more powerful. With these core technologies, and
our expertise at integrating diverse systems, customers
always find what’s suitable for them at MOXA.
Regarding software, MOXA is the first manufacturer
to receive Windows 2000 certification for its families
of multiport communication boards. In addition,
our products are designed to work with all popular
operating systems, including Windows NT, Windows
95/98, Windows XP/2000/2003, Linux, and SCO UNIX.
Our multiport board drivers have been bundled into
Microsoft Windows XP and the Linux kernel, meaning
that every copy of Windows XP and Linux OS is shipped
with a MOXA driver. Regarding hardware, Moxa’s
products have received FCC, UL, and CE certification.
In addition, state of the art ASIC (Application
Specific Integrated Circuit) techniques specially
designed for multiport serial communications are
used, greatly reducing the number of traditional
ICs and drastically lowering the repair rate. |
