Moxa's QA Policy

At the core of Moxa's competitiveness is an all-encompassing commitment to quality. All phases of our business, including research and development, production and quality control, sales and marketing, as well as technical service, are committed to delivering top quality products and service. One aspect of this commitment is Moxa's acceptance into the ISO 9001:2000 family of certified organizations (certified with no deficiencies by German auditors) and Moxa developed an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2005. This gives our customers one more guarantee that we are a top-notch company with high ideals and sophisticated quality controls. Another, perhaps more noticeable result of our commitment to quality is the fact that our product defective rate is less than 0.5%, and we are proud to provide a 5-year warranty on all products. These efforts have resulted in a successful market expansion and bigger and more profitable contracts from our partners in the data communications industry.

ISO System

ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Moxa received ISO 9001:2000 international quality certification in 2001 (with zero deficiencies) from TÜV of Germany, giving customers a concrete testament to Moxa's commitment to quality. The scope of the certification includes research and development, manufacturing and service, and the effective establishment and maintenance of a quality management system.

In order to meet our goal of providing high quality merchandise to our customers, all of the equipment used in the research, production, quality assurance, and maintenance processes is tested regularly at National Laboratory Accreditation certified labs to verify that the equipment meets the product's specifications.

 
ISO 14001 Environmental Management System

To show our commitment as a good global citizen, Moxa developed an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System in 2005. The system was certified by German auditors in August of that year. The creation of Moxa's Green Promise logo embodies our commitment to protect the environment, and our spirit for continual improvement.

The development of "green products" is a worldwide trend, and Moxa has adopted the following measures to produce products that meet world class standards:

(1) We have begun using no-lead production.
(2) We are using environmental friendly packing material.
(3) We are using low-pollution packing material.
(4) We follow RoHS and WEEE regulations for design and development.

Internal Audit

To ensure the efficient operation of our ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 systems, we have created internal audit teams that conduct scheduled and unscheduled testing of our systems. Experience has shown that making regular refinements to these systems is the best way to keep up to date on the latest regulations and requirements.
 
Quality Testing Process
Drop Test

Moxa's quality testing process has two stages: (1) The R&D stage, and (2) The mass production stage. During the R&D stage, newly developed products undergo rigid environmental tests, including a temperature test, a humidity test, and a drop test, to ensure that the product will operate normally, even in a harsh industrial environment. During the mass production stage, the products undergo a function test to verify that all of the product's functions operate as designed. Next comes the 24-hour burn-in test, and for industrial Ethernet Switches, an additional high temperature test is conducted. Only those products that pass all tests without error are allowed to proceed to the packaging area. We even inspect the packaged products to verify that the package contents are correct before adding the product to our inventory.

Moxa's Manufacturing Department estimates future months' sales volume based on past experience, and then adjusts the inventory accordingly, helping ensure that products are available when customers place an order. And to be prepared for special high-volume orders, the Manufacturing Department maintains close communication with our Sales Department so that the production level can be increased as soon as large orders are received.

Environmental Lab
Temperature & Humidity Test

In 2003, MOXA made expansion of the QA Department a top priority. A major part of this expansion was the purchase of new temperature and humidity testing equipment for our Environmental Lab, and a reorganization of our QA workflow to improve efficiency. In the future, we will continue to expand the QA Lab by installing more testing devices in the Environmental Lab, giving customers even better quality assurance.


Moxa's Product Warranty
Heating Test

Most of MOXA's products come with a solid 5-year warranty that includes maintenance. This means that for a period of 5 years from the date of delivery, MOXA will replace defective products, provided the products were installed and used properly (see our full warranty statement for details). The combination of MOXA's strict quality control procedures and product warranty gives customers absolute assurance that we produce high quality products, and that we stand behind our products.
