Hi-Speed USB operation The MOXA UPort family is a diverse line of USB products designed to provide additional COM ports to a Windows PC. Different models are available that add between one and 16 ports, each allowing independent RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 operation. UPort adaptors and hubs are ideal for connecting data acquisition equipment and other serial devices to notebook and desktop PCs. All models are compliant with USB 2.0 and 1.1specifications, and offer Hi-Speed USB operation at 480 Mbps.
Completing the product line with new 2-port models MOXA announces the release of its 2-port USB-to-serial hubs, the UPort 1250 and 1250I. Both models support RS-232/422/485 serial communication, transmission rates up to 921.6Kbps and built-in 15 KV ESD protection. The UPort 1250I also supports 2 KV optical isolation protection. Either selection is ideal for serial applications that do not require a full-sized hub. With these additions to MOXA’s UPort line, users have full range of port densities to choose from.
DB9-to-terminal block adaptor for easy wiring UPort 1100, 1200, 1400, and 1600 hubs include full support for RS-232 modem data and control signals (TxD, RxD, DTR, DSR, RTS, CTS, DCD), as well as RTS/CTS hardware flow control. Versions that support 4-wire RS-422/485 and 2-wire RS-485 are also available, with a serial data rate of up to 921.6 Kbps and a 128-byte FIFO. DB9 male connectors are standard, making it easy to attach serial devices. A DB9-to-terminal block adaptor is also included to simplify wiring for RS-422 and RS-485 applications.
