| Device Connectivity Requirements |
| A typical self-service KAP application uses a PC to connect various peripheral devices that for today's applications use a serial and/or USB interface. Since a PC needs serial or USB expansion solutions to connect to peripheral devices, the traditional solution is to use interface cards installed inside the PC. Current options include ISA, PCI, and the latest PCI Express technology. However, since some small PCs have a limited amount of space in the chassis, more and more USB solutions are connected to the computer through external expansion devices. |
