Munich, Germany, March 3, 2010—Moxa will present its complete portfolio of wireless and networking solutions for reliable traffic management system communication, security, and control at Hall 11, Booth 11.800 of the twentieth Intertraffic exhibition in Amsterdam.
Wireless Networks
The AWK-6222, a new IEEE 802.11a/b/g compliant wireless access point, will be the spotlight of Moxa’s booth. The AWK-6222’s two independent RF modules with 2.4 and/or 5 GHz dual-band operation can create essentially any topology to fit customer applications. This AP features rugged design in combination with Moxa’s Turbo Roaming technology for seamless mobile client connections. Users can achieve ultra-reliable wireless networks under challenging mobile outdoor conditions in a wide -40 to 75°C temperature range. The AWK-6222 meets EN50155/EN50121-3-2/50121-4 standards for railway and rolling stock. Wireless redundancy, dual LAN connection, STP/RSTP and QoS are just a few more of the AWK-6222’s many advanced features. Network security is provided with the WEP/WPA/WPA2/802.11X standards and powerful filters.
Ethernet Switches and Video Surveillance
Moxa’s solutions for transportation include the ToughNet series of managed M12 Ethernet switches, the VPort-461 IP video server, and the new TurboPack firmware for managed switches. TurboPack firmware includes TurboChain redundancy, LLDP, IPv6 and SNMP inform and various video surveillance solutions.
For signalling and communication systems, Moxa’s EN 50121-4 certified Power Trans and IKS switches are ideal and reliable rackmount solutions. For large networks, the product of choice is the Layer 3 PT-7828 switch. The modular PT-7828 features four gigabit ports, up to 24 10/100 BaseX ports, routing functions (static, RIP v1/2, OSPF), and authentication functions such as RADIUS and TACACS+.
Embedded Computers for Transportation
Moxa’s industrial-grade embedded computers empower reliable communications, data processing/logging, monitoring/control and information display systems. The W406 is an embedded Linux or WinCE device that features an integrated GPRS/EDGE cellular module, two software-selectable RS-232/422/485 ports, 4+4DIO and one Ethernet port for remote or distributed Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS). For use on vehicles, the e-mark-certified W311 and W321 wireless computers feature a WLAN module with serial and Ethernet ports. Moxa’s V2400 series of computers are Intel Atom-based embedded computers certified for use with specific vehicle types, such as EN50155 andEN50121 certification for rail use or e-mark certification for use on vehicles such as trucks, trams, or buses. The V2400 is equipped with multiple storage options (CF, SD, SSD), wireless/cellular/GPS modules, versatile audio/video output, and multiple interfaces, including serial and Ethernet ports, DI/DO channels, USB hosts, and CAN. Wide temperature range models can operate between -40 and 85°C to ensure reliable operation in the most severe environmental conditions.
