Taipei, Taiwan, December 23, 2011—Moxa is pleased to announce that our PT-7728-PTP series IEC 61850-3 Ethernet switch passed all the compliance and interoperability tests for precision clock synchronization at the ISPCS Plugfest, held September this year in Germany. 

The plugfest in Germany was sponsored by the International IEEE Symposium on Precision Clock Synchronization for Measurement, Control and Communication (ISPCS) to test and demonstrate device and system interoperability. At the plugfest, devices and components from a wide range of many different vendors and organizations have the opportunity come together and test their inter-operability with one another in such parameters as clock synchronization and protocol compatibility.

This year, Moxa’s PT-7728-PTP series passed all of the tests that Moxa joined, including Power Profile and VLAN tests in the ISPCS Plugfest two-day testing schedule.

Moxa's PT-7728-PTP IEC 61850-3 Ethernet switches, which are designed for power substations, support the latest version of IEEE 1588 v2 technology to meet the precise time synchronization requirements of protection and control applications. These Ethernet switches guarantee time-stamping accuracy within 1 μs for the IEC 61850 process layer. They can be configured for 1588 v2 Master, Boundary Clock, and Transparent Clock functionality.

The modular design of the PT-7728-PTP also makes network planning easy, and allows greater flexibility by letting you install up to 14 IEEE 1588 Ethernet ports. Along with a choice of either front or rear wiring, these features together make the PT-7728-PTP suitable for a variety of industrial applications.
