  MOXA joins the PCI-SIG association

MOXA's PCI Express, Universal PCI, and PCI boards were the first products of their kind to receive Windows WHQL certification for Vista x86/x64. We are now happy to report that we have also become a member of the PCI-SIG association. PCI-SIG is an industrial organization chartered to develop and manage the PCI standard. Formed in 1992, and now with more than 900 members, PCI-SIG effectively places ownership and management of the PCI specifications in the hands of the community of developers.

Becoming a member of PCI-SIG gives MOXA the opportunity to participate in discussions about communication standards between PCs and multiport serial boards. Since the PCI interface is the trend for motherboard busses, MOXA's main objective for joining PCI-SIG is to gain ready access to the latest information about advanced PCI/IO technologies. One of the main challenges is that more than one serial peripheral needs to be connected to a motherboard, but motherboards now come with fewer serial ports.

PCI-SIG membership provides the following benefits

  • More opportunities to influence the direction of PCI/IO technology
  • Review draft specifications and participate in the ECR/ECN process
  • Technical support and training
  • Be the first in the industry to access the latest PCI-SIG technologies, including PCI 3.0, PCI Express™, and PCI-X® 2.0
  • Participate in technical workgroups and developer conferences
