Due to concerns over global warming and shrinking oil supplies, people have begun to look for ways to save energy in their daily lives. In addition, more and more enterprises are trying different methods to save energy, not only to help the planet, but to reduce costs.
The largest chain store in Belgium is taking steps to reduce its environmental footprint. Known for stocking all kinds of consumer goods for daily life, the company decided to monitor each store's power consumption to ensure efficient operation.
System Requirements
In this system, daily power monitoring was required for more than 190 stores. The consumption of both hot and cold water would be also monitored. It was determined that using the Internet would be the best way for the central system to monitor each store. In addition, data was to be collected from each store using VC++ software.
