Moxa is the one of leading companies that provide peer-to-peer I/O solutions. The ioMirror is designed to simplify your installation by connecting digital inputs to outputs over Ethernet. However, there may be different requirements for your application. You may know that the ioLogik E2000 series also has a built-in peer-to-peer I/O function. But for some applications, the I/O signal must be transferred over Ethernet within 20 ms, so speed is critical. You may also want to monitor the quality of communication. How can both these needs be met at the same time?
High speed signal update time, within 20 ms over LAN
For certain applications such as a conveyer control system or a DCS system, I/O signals must be transmitted quickly. The ioMirror's update time is under 20 ms, satisfying the speed requirements of your application.
I/O signal extension through WAN
The ioMirror operates with both local area networks and wide area networks. It can also operate over the Internet, so you can transmit I/O signals to destinations that are hundreds of miles away.
Functions that reduce maintenance effort
You can configure the ioMirror using the web console or the LCD display kit. If only module-to-module mapping is required, the LCD display kit can be used for all configuration. The kit can be hot-swapped between units, so one kit can used to configure all ioMirror units in the field.
The status of each ioMirror unit can be monitored using Moxa's free ioEventlog software. ioMirror system events such as cold start, warm start, line-on, and line-off will be recorded with time stamp to ioEventlog. Engineers can study the log file directly or export it for other purposes.
Safe status and alarm port for self-monitoring
For some applications, SCADA software will be used to monitor all devices. The ioMirror E3210 has a physical alarm port which can be connected to a PLC system that integrates all devices. If SCADA software is not used, you can set up a local alarm by connecting a buzzer or flashing light. The ioMirror also provides safe status modes for all DO channels, so you can specify the status of each output device during a communication failure.
Two outputs for one input
For some applications, you may want to monitor status from two different locations. This is easy to accomplish with the ioMirror E3210. Each input signal can be mapped simultaneously to two different destinations.
