Vista WHQL Certified
The UPort 1150 and 1150-I 3-in-1 USB-to-serial adaptors have been certified for use with Vista. A broad range of operating systems are now supported, with drivers available for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista (x86 and x64), WinCE 5.0, and Linux 2.6 (x86 and x64).
The UPort 1150 and 1150I are new USB-to-serial converters with 3-in-1 RS-232/422/485 operation, transmission speeds up to 921.6 Kbps, and 15 KV ESD protection. For industrial and commercial applications that require enhanced reliability, the UPort 1150I is also equipped with 2 KV DC optical isolation protection, providing PCs with both COM port expansion and protection from potentially damaging electrical spikes. Adjustable RS-485 pull high/low resistors are built-in for daisy-chained RS-485 networks.
Previous models of the UPort allowed engineers to use their laptops for on-site device testing by connecting serial devices over the USB port. However, engineers often required two or three separate converters on hand in order to handle devices that used different serial interfaces.
