Remote monitoring and alarm systems often require stable communication and a device that can simultaneously record the data and monitor the whole system.

An Eastern European company has used Moxa's UC-7110 embedded computer with the OnCell G2100 modem to construct a remote monitoring and alarm system. The UC-7110 connects to a thermo recorder that can detect the temperature and monitor the refrigerator. When an event occurs, the information can be immediately collected by the UC-7110, and the OnCell G2100 modem can send the message to a mobile phone through SMS. The combination serves as a cost-effective remote monitoring and alarm system.
