 The
ioLogik E2242 is a new addition to the Active Ethernet I/O
line that offers 4 analog inputs and 12 configurable DIOs.
The ioLogik E2242 combines both analog and digital I/O channels
in a 1:3 ratio, making it perfectly adapted for applications
such as water tank monitoring and environmental monitoring.
Using the ioLogik E2242, one analog input can trigger 3 separate
digital outputs for local High-High, High, and Low alarms,
without requiring a separate PC or RTU.
In a typical water tank monitoring application, the ioLogik E2242's analog input can be used to monitor water tank levels, and its digital output can be used to trigger an alarm when the level reaches a certain level. As the alarm is activated, the ioLogik can also update the central computer with I/O status information by TCP, UDP, SNMP trap, or email.

and Local Control of I/O Status
The ioLogik E2242 also offers a new
control object in its Click&Go local
control logic interface. The Internal Register allows outside
SCADA control of output channels when Click&Go logic has
been activated, and can also redirect the result of one logic
value to be the source of another logic value.
The ioLogik E2242 supports Active
Ethernet I/O, which was developed specifically to address
the limitations of the traditional passive approach. Rather
than requiring the host computer to poll the I/O module over
the network for the current status, the ioLogik E2242 uses
its Active Ethernet I/O intelligence to send status information
to the host computer, but only when specific conditions are
met. This "report by exception" approach greatly
reduces the load on the CPU and network resources.
