Security has always been a big issue in industrial automation, particularly since immediate identity detection and real-time authentication are often required. In addition, there is a need for setting up a reliable communication network between devices and the control center.
A company in Northern Europe is using Moxa's UC-7410-LX embedded computer as a front-end embedded platform for access control in a security application. In this application, information collected by card scanners and keypads must be sent to the controllers for immediate identification. The data is sent to the UC-7410 first for processing, after which it is transmitted to the control center.

In this application, the UC-7410 provides a stable and powerful communication platform for communicating with the controllers over the Ethernet network.
The UC-7410 embedded computer provides these benefits:
- Compact form factor for easy installation at any field site
- No fan, no hard drive design for longer MTBF
- Front-end controller for better system performance with less maintenance effort
- Powerful computing platform for real-time data recording and processing
- Moxa Protocol Converter (MPC) facilitates system integration
