Moxa's new 2- and 4-port PCIe multiport
serial boards, the CP-102E, CP-102EL, CP-132EL, CP-132EL-I,
CP-114EL and CP-114EL-I, have a PCIe-UART inside and have comprehensive
OS support including Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 32-bit
and 64-bit, and Linux 2.4/2.6 32-bit & 64-bit. All of these
models are PCIe x1 compliant, have a baudrate up to 921.6 Kbps,
are 15 KV ESD protected, and have onboard LEDs for easy maintenance.
What makes these products different?
- Maximum CPU performance
Moxa is the 1st company to use a PCIe-UART, a highly integrated chip which combines a PCIe bridge and UART together. Below you can see the performance difference between Moxa's PCIe-UART and "PCIe Bridge + PCI-UART". Moxa's PCIe-UART outperforms "PCIe Bridge + PCI-UART" by 33% and decreases CPU loading by 48%.
- No DIP switches or Jumpers
Now users can configure the serial interface and termination resistor by software instead of opening the computer's chassis. The absence of DIP switches and jumpers makes the PCIe boards more user-friendly and saves time during installation. Furthermore, the new design reduces manufacturing time and costs since fewer components are required meaning a more competitive price for the customer. Fewer parts also translate into a higher MTBF and lower RMA rates.
