New EN50155 Unmanaged Ethernet Switches Now Available—Onboard Vehicle and Railway Industry Certified

Moxa has introduced a new series of ToughNet M12 shielded Ethernet switches. The ToughNet switches use D-code M12 connectors and are certified to provide an ideal future-proof solution for rolling stock and railway industries where electronics devices must be able to withstand tough conditions such as vibrations, shock, power supply voltage variations, and EMI interference. Designed to meet industry standards, the ToughNet series is EN50155/50121-3-2/50121-4 and e-Mark certified to ensure reliable operation under different power supply inputs and environmental disturbances.

The first to showcase in this series are the TN-5308 series products, which are 8-port industrial unmanaged M12 Ethernet switches. In addition to M12 connectors for robust connections, the TN-5308 series also supports a power supply with universal 12/24/36/48 VDC inputs (LV model) or 72/96/110 VDC inputs (MV model) to satisfy a broad range of power demands and make them ideal for universal applications. The compact and robust design of the series allows for DIN-Rail or panel mounting and the switches can be directly installed on machines at field sites without an enclosure to reduce wiring costs. The TN-5308 series also comes with a variety of robust features, such as wide operating temperature, fanless design, and IP40 protected metal housing for reliable operations when used with heavy duty applications.

Key features:

  • M12 connectors and IP40 metal housing
  • 12/24/36/48 VDC input (LV model) or 72/96/110 VDC input (MV model)
  • -40 to 75°C wide operating temperature
  • EN50155/50121-3-2/50121-4, NEMA TS2, and e-mark certified
