OnCell G3111 and G3151
Cellular IP Modems Are an Excellent Cost-effective
Solution for Power Markets
The
1-port RS-232 OnCell G3111 and 1-port RS-232/422/485
OnCell G3151 come with a full TCP/IP stack to make
it easy for users to establish transparent cellular
connections to legacy devices over TCP/IP networks,
and allow system integrators to deploy an AMR system
to transmit data over a cellular network. As long
as the control center is connected to the Internet,
it can connect to the remote metering devices. Remote
meters configured with a private IP address can access
resources on the Internet, but they cannot be managed
or accessed directly over the Internet since private
IP addresses are hidden from anyone located oustide
the LAN. The OnCell G3111 and G3151 come equipped
with OnCell Central Manager Software to solve this
private IP issue. Once a connection is established,
the remote metering devices and the control center
can communicate with each other in a private network
over the Web.
In addition, the serial ports of the OnCell are protected
by 15 KV ESD line protection to keep your system safe
from unexpected electrical discharges. Since the OnCell
supports 12 to 48 VDC power input, and comes with
2 KV EFT/surge protection, it can accommodate different
types of field power sources.
