Moxa Unveils OPC-enabled Surveillance Software for Factory Floor Monitoring

Moxa is excited to announce the release of SoftNVR-IA, a SCADA-compliant IP surveillance software application designed to fit industrial automation applications. SoftNVR-IA features a built-in OPC server that enables direct communications between factory floor automation systems and Moxa's VPort series surveillance products.

Merging video and automation services
Through OPC communications, SoftNVR-IA can directly activate video recordings and alarm notifications triggered by the automation system, and simultaneously provide automation administrators with surveillance system status reports. SoftNVR-IA simplifies the integration of IP surveillance with automation systems and enhances automation security by merging video data with automation.

Flexible live video monitoring
The SoftNVR-IA includes all essential video functions. It supports MPEG4, MPEG4 and H.264 video streams with up to 32 channels of live display, and users have the flexibility of switching to dual monitor and full screen display modes for video monitoring. In a typical SCADA application, SoftNVR-IA can cooperate with VPort products to operate pan-tilt-zoom cameras and capture target images precisely from field sites, and present a better picture of potential risks before sending any staff to the field site.

Improved productivity
The SoftNVR-IA can be triggered manually, by event trigger, or on a schedule to record video or perform other network video functions. This network video software supports pre-event video recording for up to 30 seconds, and supports the FIFO recycle function for long-term video recording. Those video records can be used for further analysis, troubleshooting and problem prevention, and can be filed to improve facility security and productivity.

Intelligent alarm handling
SoftNVR-IA alarm management allows a variety of responses to triggered alarms, such as, popup display, go preset, and sound. It is also capable of sending alarm notification emails to multiple addresses.
