Introduction |
 |
|
| |
The
EM-1220-T embedded module features 2 RS-232/422/485
serial ports, dual Ethernet ports, and an SD socket
for external storage expansion. The module has a compact
design that can be easily integrated with industrial
applications, such as gas station pumps, vending machines,
and ticketing machines, and offers a powerful serial
communication capability for better system integration.
Programmers will find that the pre-installed, ready-to-run
μClinux platform and the full-function development
kit make it easy to develop software and build a reliable
communication base for industrial automation applications.
The EM-1220-T is a "wide temperature" model that operates
reliably in temperatures ranging from -40 to 75°C, making the module suitable for even the harshest industrial environments.
Click here for information about the standard temperature model (the EM-1220).
Industrial-grade Module for Industrial Applications
The EM-1220-T comes with 2 software-selectable RS-232/422/485
serial ports for attaching different types of industrial
devices. In addition, the MOXA ART ARM9 32-bit 192
MHz processor promises a powerful performance for
system operation. The two auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps
Ethernet ports default to the higher 100M speed when
available, and ensure network connectivity redundancy.
In addition, the 8 GPIO pins provide ample design
flexibility, giving you the freedom to develop the
features your customers need. The SD socket also
provides an efficient way for storage expansion.
These features are better suited for today's equipment,
and R&D
engineers will spend less effort developing related
software.
Short Time to Market
The ready-to-run µClinux
operating system allows you to minimize your system
development effort, and get your product to market
in no time.
Easy-to-Use Development Kit
The EM-1220-T Development Kit can be ordered separately
for evaluating the EM-1220 embedded module. The kit
includes an EM-1220-T embedded module, an EM-1220-DK
carrier
board, and the items needed for setting up a basic
layout. The kit makes it easy for users to evaluate
the functionality of the EM-1220. You can develop
and integrate specific systems on the module in advance
to make the EM-1220 embedded module completely compatible
with industrial systems and applications.

Industry is moving to adopt RISC-based, all-in-one computers that use an embedded Linux operating system. This type of front-end computer is extremely versatile and robust, and offers significant savings compared to traditional IPCs. |
|
|
| |
Embedded operating systems can be divided into three categories: Linux, Windows CE, and customized or proprietary operating systems. Due to its versatility and stability, Linux is the best OS choice for programmable devices. |
