Introduction |
 |
|
| |
ThinkCore DA-661 products are
RISC-based ready-to-run embedded computers designed
for industrial data applications.
These embedded computers feature 16 software-selectable
RS-232/422/485 serial ports and dual Ethernet ports,
and are based on the Intel XScale IXP-425
communication processor. All of these great features
are packed into standard 1U, 19-inch wide rack-mounted
rugged enclosures.
The
robust,
rack-mountable
mechanism design provides the hardened protection needed
for industrial environment applications, and lets users
easily install
the embedded computers on a standard 19-inch rack. ThinkCore
DA-661 products are not only suitable for the IT machine
control room, but also for the critical assets found
in the control and automation system
of industrial plant floors, and even in electric
power utility substations. To make the computers suitable
for mandy types of industrial applications, ThinkCore
DA-661 products provide a wide range of power
inputs from 100 to 240V, suitable for both AC and DC
power lines. Due to the no hard disk, fan-less, and
energy efficient design,
ThinkCore DA-661 products minimize heat generation,
are able to operate 365/7/24 in heavy duty, harsh industrial
environments to deliver strongly reliable, powerful computing,
and provide the high performance expected of multifunctional
controller usage.
You may choose from the pre-installed, ready-to-run, open standard Linux OS, or the more common WinCE OS for your software program development. The built-in SDK provides a convenient tool for developing control programs, and follows the common programming procedures used on a standard PC. The software you develop for your own applications can be stored in the onboard Flash memory. The DA-661 computer makes it easy to build control systems with distributed architecture on embedded technologies such as for SCADA systems, plant floor automation, and power electricity monitoring.

Industry is moving to adopt RISC-based, all-in-one computers that use an embedded Linux operating system. This type of front-end computer is extremely versatile and robust, and offers significant savings compared to traditional IPCs. |
|
|
| |
Embedded operating systems can be divided into three categories: Linux, Windows CE, and customized or proprietary operating systems. Due to its versatility and stability, Linux is the best OS choice for programmable devices. |
