Solution Description
In a typical solar monitoring system, there are a variety of different input resources we need to consider, such as the analog track control signal from the PV cell, the Modbus/serial input from DC to AC inverters, the analog or digital input from weather sensors, as well as choosing between the web or HTML format for triggering from the remote site. When designing or creating a solar system, a programmable device that acts as a controller to perform industrial tasks such as remote monitoring, data acquisition, data logging, and protocol conversions can be used to achieve this goal.

Solution Description

The environment, energy, and agriculture governmental institutions in Southeast Asia needed to set up control and monitoring devices to measure rainfall volume, humidity, and similar environmental parameters for designated periods of time throughout the year. The obstacle is that these devices are to be installed in remote areas that are difficult to access, making maintenance impractical; therefore, reliable solutions are required.

This application requires a reliable embedded computer that can store, send, and receive data from the control center, as well as provide two serial communication ports. The IA3341 is the perfect solution; it uses one of the two serial ports to connect to a serial monitoring device and the other serial port to connect to a GPRS modem.
