Point of Sale (POS) terminals have become popular at airline check-in counters to speed up the check-in process. One of our customers decided to upgrade their POS systems for use at check-in counters. They were looking for a reliable, small size serial communication solution that would allow them to connect more peripheral devices in a small space. The peripheral devices include mileage card readers, passport readers, boarding pass voucher printers, receipt printers, scales and display monitors, with each device connected to a separate serial port.
