Moxa sets sail with DNV certified industrial Ethernet

Taipei, Taiwan, February 07, 2007—Many of MOXA's industrial Ethernet switches, media converters, and serial-to-Ethernet servers have been certified by the DNV and GL classification societies. The relevant products have been certified for safe and reliable use with applications for battleships, ocean liners, offshore drilling platforms, tide-power generation systems, and offshore windmill farms. DNV/GL certified products are used to ensure the success of mission-critical maritime and offshore applications.

The DNV stipulates strict rules and verification procedures for the classification of ships and high speed and light craft that are to be used for offshore applications. The services are designed to mitigate risks, assure legal compliance, and add to the net value of a project during its entire lifecycle. The services cover the entire spectrum of risk assessment, risk mitigation and risk management, feasibility studies, consultancy, verification, and certification.
