MOXA EDS-508A/505A Value-added Managed Ethernet Switches—Ruggedized 8- and 5-port Ethernet Switch Series for Diverse Industrial Applications

Taipei, Taiwan, August 22, 2006—Moxa Networking recently announced the release of the EDS-508A/505A series of 8- and 5-port managed Ethernet switches . This new series of intelligent switches supports advanced management features such as Turbo Ring, QoS, IGMP snooping/GMRP, VLAN, LACP, SNMP V1/V2c/V3, and RMON. The flexible configuration options of the EDS-508A/505A switches make them suitable for diverse industrial applications.

The EDS-508A/505A switches were designed especially for applications that need managed switches . System engineers will find the Turbo Ring feature particularly easy to configure. In fact, users can use the default configuration, in which case Turbo Ring is plug-and-play, or modify the configuration using the friendly web-based user interface. Additional features include support for IEEE802.1X and https/SSL for network security, and the user-configured automatic warning by exception. The ruggedized EDS-508A/505A switches are designed for all types of industrial environments. Models are available with long-haul transmit capability of up to 80 km, and you may also choose from standard temperature models (rated to work in a 0 to 60°C temperature range), or from "-T" models” that rated to operate in a temperature ranges of -40 to 75°C.
