Drivers & Software
The OnCell 5004/5104-HSPA series are high-performance industrial grade cellular routers that allow up to 4 Ethernet-based devices to simultaneously use a single cellular data account for primary or backup network connectivity to remote sites and devices. Both products provide the functionality of a cellular router, firewall, and switch in one device, and to ensure zero data loss and on-demand cellular communication, the OnCell 5004/5104-HSPA are integrated with the GuaranLink function. The difference between the OnCell 5004-HSPA and OnCell 5104-HSPA is that the OnCell 5104-HSPA comes with a built-in relay output that can be configured to indicate the priority of events when notifying or warning engineers in the field, and the two digital inputs allow you to connect basic I/O devices, such as sensors, to the cellular network. The OnCell 5004-HSPA can be placed on a desktop or wall-mounted, whereas the OnCell 5104-HSPA has an IA design and can be attached to a DIN-rail. Both products use 12 to 48 VDC power inputs with a screw-on design for greater reliability, and the Ethernet ports come with 1.5 KV magnetic isolation protection to keep your system safe from unexpected electrical discharges.
Critical Elements of Industrial-Grade Wireless Devices
Industrial operators using commercial-grade wireless devices for mission-critical wireless applications may be getting satisfactory wireless network service, but frequent maintenance and system downtime can add up to a high total cost of ownership. In this paper, we reveal many harmful effects commonly found in industrial environments that can quickly disable a commercial-grade wireless device, and discuss the types of protection an industrial-grade wireless device should provide to ensure continuous wireless network communication...more
Advantages of using wireless technologies include boosting data transmission speed, real-time data transmissions, remote equipment monitoring and alerts, flexible installation of remote equipment, and wide coverage areas. In addition, wireless technologies can penetrate areas where cables are unable to reach, saving wiring costs. By adopting wireless technologies, industrial applications are able to benefit from greater versatility.
However, the completeness of data, security of transmission, and reliability of the wireless network are constant concerns as wireless technologies rely completely on the emission of electromagnetic waves through the air. Drawing from over 20 years of experience, Moxa offers users the most reliable industrial networking solutions including Turbo Roaming™ for seamless wireless communication, as well as extended wireless transmission ranges of over 10 km. In addition, our complete selection of products for demanding industrial environments includes wide temperature (-40 to 75°C) models, IP67-rated protection from water and dust, and EN50155 certification for rail traffic applications.
We hope this guidebook will provide you with a more comprehensive understanding of industrial wireless technologies and serve as your most trusted guide to getting un-wired!
