Question What is the TCP/UDP port I need to open to access my Serial to Ethernet device server remotely?I plan to locate my NPort behind a NAT router to use private IP. And I want to install it as real COM port on my system. What should I do?

[Description]
Often we receive a call or e-mail from customers requesting information about what port they need to open to access our devices remotely.
 
[Solution]
If you want to allow NPort to use a private IP behind your NAT/firewall, you should use the NAPT protocol to map the Public IP to the NPort's private IP in your NAT router. Most routers/firewalls support this function.
For example, you configure the NPort's private IP as 192.168.1.1, and the NAT router's public IP is 61.x.x.x. Next, you should map TCP/UDP port numbers.
 
The following table lists the most common ports needed for different functions on our serial to Ethernet servers:
