Moxa’s cloud-ready IIoT edge gateway family consists of industrial computers that are optimized for edge computing applications in the solar power, water and wastewater, oil and gas, and factory automation sectors. Our supplementary IIoT software, ThingsPro®, simplifies the connection of edge data to the cloud. It provides multiple connectivity options, including Modbus and generic MQTT/HTTPS protocols, and comes with built-in clients to connect to AWS and Azure cloud services.

Designed for remote monitoring and telemetry applications in the field, these compact IIoT edge gateways are equipped with a power-efficient Intel Atom® or Arm-based processor and can provide reliable wireless connectivity in environments with temperatures ranging from -40 to 70°C.

What is Moxa’s ThingsPro Software Suite and how does it work?
Moxa’s ThingsPro Software Suite is a collection of software programs designed to simplify IIoT gateway application development. It currently includes two programs:
- ThingsPro Gateway: A software for IIoT edge gateways, which provides an easy-to-use GUI for Modbus data logging, tag-based data acquisition, LTE connectivity, and MQTT/HTTPS communication. Also included are C and Python APIs for developing your own applications, and client interfaces for multiple cloud-based services.
- ThingsPro Server: A cloud-based service to locate and manage your IIoT edge gateways. It can be hosted on cloud platforms such as AWS and offers RESTful APIs for integrating information with your dashboards.

Which devices and what kind of OS can ThingsPro run on?

ThingsPro Gateway Software is currently supported on Moxa’s UC-8100 and MC-1121 Series IIoT edge gateways that run Debian Linux OS. Additional devices will be supported in the future.

ThingsPro Server also provides an account management tool for role-based access control.
