The RTC/CMOS batteries installed in Moxa’s embedded computers are warrantied for 1 year. However, you can expect your battery to last longer than that, possibly up to 2, 3, or more years. Moxa’s embedded computers are designed so that if they are connected to an AC/DC power source, the RTC and CMOS will be powered directly by the AC/DC power source. On the other hand, for embedded computers not connected to an AC/DC power source, the RTC and CMOS will be powered by the RTC/CMOS battery installed in the embedded computer. In either case, you can expect the RTC/CMOS battery to last more than one year under continuous use.

Keep in mind that the battery in your embedded computer is warrantied separately from the embedded computer itself, and that different embedded computers may be warrantied for different lengths of time. For more information about your embedded computer’s warranty, refer to the warranty statement or service contract included with the product. Additional information can be found on the Moxa website’s warranty page at www.moxa.com/warranty.

When your embedded computer’s battery needs to be changed, please contact the MOXA RMA service team at https://www.moxa.com/rma/about_rma.aspx for battery replacement service. If the battery is still under warranty, the defective battery will be replaced free of charge. If the battery’s warranty has expired you will be charged a fee to have the battery replaced.

Note: If your embedded computer is no longer covered by its standard warranty, you can still contact the MOXA RMA service team for battery replacement service, but you will be charged an extra service fee. MOXA reserves the right to not service products that are no longer under warranty.
