Brea, California, Jan. 1, 2017—Moxa launched the new ToughNet TN-4500A series EN 50155 switches that provide up to 28 ports with 4 Gigabit ports for increasing high bandwidth services on train. To reduce the installation space and effort, the TN-4500A series provides up to 20 PoE ports with 30 watt power supply per PoE port for onboard devices including wireless device, IP cameras, and IP phones without extra power wiring requirements. The TN-4500A series is designed for major railway applications including CCTV, PIS, PA, P-WiFi and TCMS, and is compliant with essential section of EN 50155 certifications, ensuring reliable network communication for railway environments.

"To meet the future trend of IP network evolution and converged network transmissions, the network backbone not only has to be reliable, but also needs to support sufficient bandwidth to accommodate data, voice, and video data transmission through one single network. In addition, increasing on board Ethernet devices are asking for higher ports count on backbone switches. Moxa’s new TN-4500A series Ethernet switches have maximum 28 ports and are featured with Gigabit ports supporting PoE functions for multiple devices data transmission. With 24 to 110 VDC wide input range, isolated dual power input and 120W PoE power budget, TN-4500A series’ power supply can provide customers sustainable network reliability as well as considerable flexibility for diverse applications at different locations. With future proof high bandwidth and reliable design, the TN-4500A series guarantee you smooth rail network operation.” said Joe Lin, product manager for Moxa’s Industrial Ethernet Switches.

The TN-4500A series Ethernet switches are compliant with essential sections of EN 50155, covering operating temperature, power input voltage, surge, ESD, and vibration, as well as conformal coating and power insulation, making the switches suitable for railway onboard applications.
