Moxa Launches New Rugged Zone 2 Panel Computer for Oil & Gas Applications

EXPC-1519 zone 2 computerBrea, California, Nov. 23, 2015—Moxa’s newly launched Zone 2 panel computer, the EXPC-1519, is the perfect combination of brains and brawn, enabling oil and gas companies to do so much more, with less. Designed especially for use in oil and gas installations and any other mission-critical operation where onsite control and visibility is imperative, the EXPC-1519 features a 19-inch, 1000-nits sunlight readable LCD with projected capacitive multi-touch screen that can be operated with rigger’s gloves, offering the dexterity of a consumer tablet, while enduring the most extreme of environments.

Rugged Design for the Most Hazardous Environments

Industrial environments face critical environmental challenges 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Equipment in such environments could be subjected to blistering hot or freezing cold temperatures, as well as duEXPC-1519 zone 2 computerst, rain, and vibrations, especially when used for mission-critical applications. With the robust fanless design, the EXPC-1519’s operability in temperatures -40 to 70°C is highly reliable. More impressively, this panel computer requires no heater system to endure extreme cold when the system boots up. The EXPC-1519 also carries the required industrial certifications, including Class 1 Division 2, ATEX Zone 2, IECEx and totally sealed NEMA 4X/IP66.

Superior Performance and Flexibility

Equipped with high performance Intel® 3rd generation Core™ i7-3555LE or Celeron 1047UE CPU and up to 2.5GHz processor, the EXPC-1519 guarantees enterprise-grade computing functionality required for advanced SCADA applications, bringing the control room to the field level. Furthermore, the flexible connectivity interface options were designed to meet a wide array of connectivity demands and carry an array of standard connectors with cable glands, terminal block with cable glands, and hazardous area connectors on the bottom panel.

Extreme Reliability for Minimum Maintenance Effort

The dual AC/DC power supply, with optional WLAN module/antenna, 100M Fiber optic connection, allows the EXPC-1519 to integrate reliably and redundantly with any network infrastructure. Additionally, the hardware self-diagnostic tool reports the system health status to the central control room in case of system failure, reducing downtime and financial loss.
