The RTC/CMOS batteries installed in Moxa’s embedded computers come with a 1-year warranty. However, the batteries are known to have a lifetime of 2 or more years. Moxa’s embedded computers are designed such that if they are connected to an AC/DC power source, the RTC and CMOS will be powered directly by the AC/DC power source. For embedded computers that are not connected to an AC/DC power source, the RTC and CMOS will be powered by the RTC/CMOS battery. In either case, you can expect the RTC/CMOS battery to last more than one year, even under continuous use.
Note that batteries are covered by warranties that are independent of the embedded computers that they are installed in. The warranty periods for the various embedded computer models may also differ. For more information, refer to the warranty statement or service contract included with your product. Additional information is available on Moxa’s warranty page.
If the battery in your embedded computer needs to be replaced, contact the Moxa RMA service team. If the battery is still under warranty, the defective battery will be replaced free of charge. If the battery’s warranty period has passed, Moxa will charge a fee.
Note: If your embedded computer is no longer covered by a standard warranty, you can still contact Moxa’s RMA service team for a battery replacement service at a service fee. However, Moxa reserves the right to service products that are no longer under warranty.
