Moxa unveils new UPort 400 series USB-IF certified industrial-grade USB 2.0 hubs

Taipei, Taiwan, February 6, 2009—Moxa is proud to introduce

a new line of industrial-grade USB 2.0 hubs, the UPort™ 400 series. The UPort™ 404 and 407 can expand 1 USB port into 4 or 7 ports. The hubs are designed to provide true USB 2.0 Hi-Speed 480 Mbps data transmission through each port, even for heavy-load applications. The UPort™ 400 series is also USB-IF certified through high-speed compliance testing for industrial applications. In addition to EDS level 4 protection built-in, the hubs are fully compliant with the USB Plug & Play specification and provide a full 500 mA of power per port, ensuring that your USB devices will function properly even in heavy-load applications. The UPort™ 400 series not only offers the most reliable and stable USB connection, but increased productivity as well.

World's first USB-IF certified industrial-grade USB hubs

To provide users the most reliable USB connectivity, Moxa has attained USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum) certification for the UPort™ 400 series industrial-grade USB. USB-IF verifies a number of strict electrical requirements for high-speed hubs designed for the USB 2.0 specification. This means that the UPort™ 404 and 407 support up to 480 Mbps USB 2.0 transmissions, are fully compliant with interoperability requirements, have enough power for devices to function, and provide a successful transition back to high-speed operation from suspend mode.

Built-in ESD level 4 protection for the highest safeguard

Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can be as severe as having more than one thousand volts of ESD with a high rise time (dv/dt) break through the junction layer of protective devices. To guard against serious damage, Moxa's UPort™ 404 and 407 USB hubs offer ESD level 4 (contact 8 KV, air 15 KV) protection.

Convenient power inputs

The UPort™ 404 and 407 support both a power terminal block and power jack for ease of use and greater flexibility. Users can connect the terminal block directly to a DC power source, or use the power jack to connect to an AC circuit through an adaptor. The UPort™ 404 supports external power and bus power supplies so no power adaptor is required. Bus power can also be used to connect low power devices.

With USB-IF certification, various built-in protections, DIN-Rail and wall mountable design, and up to 7 USB ports, Moxa's UPort™ 400 series industrial-grade hubs ensure that your USB devices will function properly in any heavy-load application.
