Three of Moxa's Embedded Computers Receive International Awards

Taipei, Taiwan, March 09, 2008—We are proud to announce that three of Moxa's embedded computers have received awards from some of the most prestigious industry publications—Control Engineering, Control Engineering China, and The Industrial Control and Automation Website (Gongkong.com) from China.

The three awards are:

1. W345: "Engineers’ Choice Award 2007" from Control Engineering
2. DA-662: "Engineers' Choice Award 2007" from Control Engineering China
3. W311/321/341 Series: “the Best Product Award in PC/Embedded Control” from The Industrial Control and Automation Website China (Gongkong.com)

Control Engineering has chosen Moxa's W345 wireless embedded computer as the winner of the Engineers’ Best Choice Award 2007. Control Engineering is a well-known international magazine that offers the latest embedded system trends and technologies. This annual awards competition is widely recognized as the premier honor for new products in the industrial control and automation markets.

W345 is a RISC-based, ready-to-run wireless embedded computer that features 4 RS-232/422/485 serial ports, 1 LAN port, 2 USB 2.0 hosts, 1 relay output, and an SD socket for external storage expansion. The embedded quad band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz cellular module makes the W345 an ideal solution for long-range communication. The DA-662 is a ready-to-run, RISC-based embedded computer designed especially for data acquisition in various industrial applications. The standard 19-in rackmount and wide range power input (100-240V AC/DC) design makes it suitable for a variety of applications, including power substation automation and device control and monitoring. Moreover, the DA-662’s no hard disk, fanless, and energy efficient design mean that it generates a minimum amount of heat, and delivers highly reliable and powerful computing in harsh industrial environments.

The third group of products to be recognized is Moxa’s W311/W321/W341 series of wireless embedded computers, which were awarded the "Best Product Award in PC/Embedded Control" from The Industrial Control and Automation Website China (Gongkong.com). These wireless computers come with serial ports, LAN ports, and 802.11a/b/g modules to guarantee reliable data communication over a wireless LAN.

Gongkong.com, which counts the Chinese Association of Automation as a council member, is considered to be the most authoritative online media outlet in China for industrial control and automation.
