Moxa's Active Ethernet I/O is the first industrial I/O device to support SNMPv3 for secure remote monitoring

Taipei, Taiwan, July 14, 2009—Moxa is proud to announce that our ioLogik E2000 Active Ethernet I/O product line is the first industrial I/O device to support SNMPv3. In addition to the support of SNMPv1 and v2, the ioLogik E2000 series supports SNMPv3 to further enhance security measures. In comparison with SNMPv1 and v2, SNMPv3 primarily provides increased security and remote configuration enhancements. With SNMPv3, the ioLogik E2000 Active Ethernet I/O is able to provide an even higher level of security assurance, such as verifying if a message is from a valid source, and snooping prevention by packet encryption to ensure that packets have not been tampered with during transmission. The ioLogik E2000 Active Ethernet I/O product line is perfectly suited for secure remote monitoring applications.


Moxa's Active Ethernet I/Os feature our new push technology, which offers proactive and event-based reporting for better control and management of I/O devices for PC-based data acquisition and control. The I/O status of an Active Ethernet I/O device can be reported and controlled automatically on-site based on user specified events. Although this active and event-based reporting method is new for PC-based monitoring, most importantly our push technology requires far less bandwidth compared to traditional polling methods.
