Moxa's GuaranLink Technology Ensures Reliable and Consistent Cellular Connectivity

Taipei, Taiwan, Oct 18, 2010—Moxa is pleased to introduce the OnCell 5000 series of GSM/GPRS or UMTS/HSDPA industrial cellular routers for connecting up to four Ethernet devices to a cellular network. The OnCell 5000 series cellular routers are first in the industry to provide a standalone platform that combines cellular router, firewall, and switch functionality in one device, and are the industry’s first standalone platform of this type. The routers provide an intelligent, industrial strength, multi-functional cellular communication platform ideal for upgrading M2M applications to cellular.

The highly flexible design of the OnCell 5000 series allows LAN ports to connect to a cellular WAN using a single cellular data account for primary and backup wireless WAN connectivity. Another important feature is the dual SIM card tray with automatic SIM switchover. The OnCell 5000 series is ideal for any industrial application, but is especially well suited for environmental monitoring systems and transportation applications. Cellular devices are usually not alerted when cellular connections become inactive due to signal fading, interference, or connection termination by the operator. This is not true of Moxa’s OnCell cellular routers, which support GuaranLink to ensure that your cellular connection is available whenever you need it.

OnCell 5000 series cellular routers are robust, reliable, high-performance devices that use 12 to 48 VDC power inputs with a screw-on design for greater reliability. They operate reliably in a wide -30 to 55°C operating temperature range and are housed in an aluminum IP30 protected form factor. OnCell 5000 series cellular routers have one WAN port, and 1.5 KV magnetic isolation protection for the four LAN interfaces to keep your system safe from unexpected electrical discharges.

Key Features:

•Quad-band GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
•4 10/100M Ethernet ports routed to 1 GSM/GPRS cellular connection
•Wireless WAN connectivity
•Centralized private IP management software
•Power redundancy
•DIN-Rail and wall mountable housing
