All NPort products support a function called Max connection, which enables up to 8 hosts (4 hosts for the NPort 5000 Series and 8 hosts for all other NPorts) to have simultaneous access to an NPort’s serial port. To activate this function in an NPort device, set the Max connection setting for the serial port of the device.
